Experimental Research

Looking through videos on Youtube, Robbie, Katie and myself found different experimental music videos, which showed different techniques from stop motion to one take.

This is an example of a one take music video, we were going to use paint so this come to my head straight away.

Our idea includes face paint and maybe fire, so Robbie showed Katie and myself this video which is simple yet powerful.

I am a big fan of stop motion and this clever music video shows just how effective it can be.

At night-time around Sheffield there are lots of lights, which we are going to capture and use in out video. This video shows lots of lights and it intrigued us

Cleverly these three videos have reversed the whole video, the singers/actors had to learn the song backwards!

We thought it would be a good idea to have a crazy/wierd man in our video because you thought it would work well in the dark with fire and lights, so Zach Atherton-Collins was the guy we thought could do it. Katie showed us this video just to show us how weird the people are.

Fisticuffs - Miranda Pennell

This an extremely clever experimental film showed me how clever you can be with the positioning of the camera and how good the editor is making shots as smooth as possible, which deceives the audience in to thinking it is one shot. They use pillars like in the picture below for points where they can crop the clip. I personally really enjoyed the film and thought it was really clever.

Hauschka - Morgenrot

When watching this experimental film, at first i did not really get it, but i did find it clever as it was obviously shot with a fake, small scale city. I did predict that we would not see the piano hitting the floor as i noticed straight away it was a reconstructed city. But over all i thing they did a good job.

Idea

After watching several weird videos we want to do something which is like the Dub Phizix video. Where it is dark, freaky, we want to use face paint also, so we have the idea of having a man who was obsessed with rituals and become obsessed drawing them.

Paperwork

All our paperwork for this project was done by Katie Watts as she was the Producer, so her blog will show all the Pre-Production. I would have a link but for some reason i cannot get on to her blog.
